Siliguri, 14th October: In an attempt to further strengthen the security system of the city, the Siliguri Police Commissionerate has installed 82 new CCTV cameras on Eastern Bypass and Sevoke Road, under the jurisdiction of the Bhakti Nagar Police Station and Panitanki Police Outpost.
As per reports, on Saturday, Siliguri Police Commissioner C Sudhakar inaugurated the control room of the installed cameras at the Bhakti Nagar police station and Panitanki Outpost. In this regard, the Commissioner of Police stated that CCTV cameras have been set up on the main roads to strengthen the security arrangements ahead of the Durga puja. He added that the said areas can now be closely monitored. Following the current addition, a total of 650 CCTV cameras are monitoring the city.
