Siliguri, 02nd October: A team of high-level officials including the District Magistrate S. Ponnambalam and Siliguri Metropolitan Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma took stock of various river ghats including the Noukaghat of Siliguri ahead of the puja season.
Reportedly, Naka checking is being carried out thoroughly in the city to keep the security system under check before the Durga Puja. Furthermore, the team looked closely into the traffic system in the areas near the ghats to avoid the occurrence of traffic congestion during the pujas and the idol immersion programmes.
Addressing the media, DCP East Joy Tudu stated that various issues were taken stock of today. Also, the team interacted with the people in charge of maintaining the ghats.
