Siliguri, 30th July: A team of Siliguri Police Station under the supervision of DCP East conducted a raid, late Thursday night, at Omkar Lodge at Hill Cart Road, Siliguri and busted a sex racket that was being run in the lodge.
During the raid, five accused persons including the manager of the said lodge were arrested. The apprehended have been identified as Md Mostafa (35) of Santinagar, Haldibari, who is the manager of the lodge, Akhilesh Kumar Mandal (34), Dipak Kumar (31), Mintu Kumar (31) and Bijay Kumar Singh (31), all residents of Bihar.
Four women who were forced into prostitution by the management of the aforesaid lodge were rescued and taken into safe custody, as victims.
A case under specific sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (ITPA) has been registered at Siliguri Police Station against the five arrested and will be presented before the Ld Court today.
