Siliguri, 22nd February: A grand event was organized at Dinbandhu Mancha to mark the fourth anniversary of the current board of Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
The program began with a ceremonial lamp lighting and musical performances. Following this, a ‘report card’ highlighting various developmental works undertaken by the municipal corporation over the past four years was presented. A video presentation showcasing these initiatives was also displayed for the audience.
The event was attended by Mayor Gautam Deb, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, Padma Shri awardee Mahendranath Roy, the Municipal Commissioner, Members of the Mayor-in-Council, councillors, distinguished citizens, and general public representatives.
Special felicitation was accorded to notable figures from the fields of education and sports. Additionally, citizens who presented constructive and significant proposals during the ‘Talk to Mayor’ program were honored with the ‘Socheton Nagorik Samman’ award.
The program also included a session where the general public shared their views, and the municipal authorities addressed various questions and issues directly.
Officials assured that citizen services and city development projects will continue to progress at the same pace in the coming days.
