Siliguri, 19th September: On Tuesday, Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb chaired a meeting from the virtual meeting room, with five Borough Committee Chairman and officials. The new system of virtual meetings has been launched under the new initiative of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC).
As per reports, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, Municipal Commissioner Sonam Wangdi Bhutia, and other officials were present at the meeting.
During the meeting, the Mayor stated that ahead of the Durga Puja all measures would be undertaken to combat dengue in areas under the Borough Committees. In addition, the Mayor claimed the virtual mode of meetings to be beneficial as the Borough officials can be present at the meetings and discussions while being present at their respective offices.
