Siliguri, 16th November: Siliguri’s BJP MLA Shankar Ghosh along with the workers demonstrated today regarding the encroachment of land adjacent to Gulma Railway Station. It has been alleged that Trinamool Congress leader Alok Chakraborty has built a three-storey building by occupying a vacant land in the area.
MLA Shankar Ghosh reached the aforementioned area today and opposed the encroachment of land, which he said belongs to the tea garden and railways. He accused the TMC leader of capturing the land illegally and building a three-storey building. Ghosh further added that despite raising the issue in the Vidhan Sabha (State Legislative Assembly), neither the BDO nor BLRO have taken a step to investigate the matter. He alleged that this is mainly because Alok Chakraborty belongs to TMC which is the ruling party in the state.
On the other hand, Alok Chakraborty, through a telephonic conversation, denied all allegations and said that the land does not belong to him but instead was bought by his daughter.
