Siliguri, 11th October: Siliguri MLA and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shankar Ghosh visited Bagrakote and Fuleswari underpass and inspected the area, along with several railway officials.
According to reports, presently, the traffic via the Bagrakote area of Siliguri has completely stopped. Consequently, the residents have to travel a long distance by walking. On Wednesday, MLA Shankar Ghosh visited the area to make alternative arrangements for the convenience of the locals.
In this regard, the MLA mentioned his collaboration with the railways regarding the matter. He further stated that underpasses and flyovers are currently not feasible in the Bagrakote area. Thus, the decision of a rail crossing is being considered as an alternative option.
Subsequently, the issue of water logging in the Fuleswari underpass will be discussed with various railway departments and the state government. In addition, the problem of encroachment and misuse of railway space will also be discussed.
