In response to a complaint lodged with the police, two individuals named Mohammad Naseeruddin and Saheda Ansari were promptly apprehended. The questioning of the suspects led to the successful rescue of the two minors from NJP on August 11.
Additionally, three more women were detained in connection with this case. The identified suspects are Suhana Ansari, Zarina Begum, and Jaigun Nisha Ansari. Notably, Jaigun Nisha Ansari is reportedly the spouse of a civic volunteer associated with the Siliguri Commissionerate. The three detainees were presented before the Siliguri court on August 12, with Suhana Ansari being granted an 8-day police remand for further investigation.
During police interrogation, Suhana Ansari disclosed that she used to hand over the minors to Mohammad Salman, who subsequently arranged their transportation to Delhi. However, the entire trafficking scheme was thwarted prior to its execution. The sixth accused was presented in the Siliguri court today as part of the ongoing investigation by the police.
