Siliguri, 18th May: Siliguri Metropolitan traffic department has topped in the number of e-challan issued in April across the entire state. As per the record, Siliguri traffic issued 2927 challans out of which 1409 challans have been disposed of while 1518 challans are pending. In terms of realization of fines, Siliguri traffic has collected a fine of Rs 17,04,000 out of a total fine of 49,43,000, according to the analysis of e-challan data for April 2022.
Reportedly, Traffic DCP Abhishek Gupta stated that the Siliguri Metropolitan traffic department has performed exquisitely to maintain traffic rules and the safety of the general public.
He also added that road accidents have been reduced by 20% in the last three months due to the tremendous job performed by the Traffic Department, which resulted in the reduction in death rates. Apart from this, the maximum number of e-challans were issued in the metropolitan area of Siliguri.
