Siliguri Metropolitan Police to launch pink mobile patrolling vans for women’s safety during Durga Puja

Siliguri, 12th September: In a significant step towards elevating women’s safety, the Siliguri Metropolitan Police has undertaken an initiative to introduce pink mobile patrolling vans during the upcoming Durga Puja festival. The statement was made by Siliguri Police Commissioner C. Sudhakar during a meeting with the Puja committees at the Dinbandhu Mancha (Tathya Kendra) in Siliguri.


According to reports, the vans will be painted pink and staffed with women police officials and sub-constables to ensure the safety of women in the city. Two Pink Mobile Patrol Vans will be deployed in the East and West zones, respectively. A total of 14 women police officials will be assigned to the vans dedicated to securing the safety of women, particularly during the nighttime.

Additionally, to address any issues regarding safety concerns or other inconveniences during the festival, the ‘Kavach’ app will also be activated to provide better safety measures.
