Siliguri, 02nd February: Before the upcoming elections of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation, Mayor Ashok Bhattacharjee laid the foundation stones of a Children’s Park under Ward No. 29 and drinking water system for the residents of Ward No. 28, Tikiapara.
Councillor Sharmila Das, Mayor-in-council of the water supply department Shardindu Chakraborty and Mayor-in-council Kamal Agarwal were present during the event.
The Mayor stated that the residents of the area have long sought a park for the children and the elderly. The park will be built on a small plot of land of SMC adjacent to the Indoor Stadium. Bhattacharya further stated that the construction work of the park will be completed within a year. Besides, they also aim to provide clean drinking water to the houses of Tikiapara.
