Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb discusses dengue prevention protocols with health officials and DM

Siliguri, 05th August: On Saturday, Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb convened a meeting with health department officials and Darjeeling District Magistrate S. Ponnambalam to discuss crucial measures to prevent a surge in dengue cases within the city.


Following the meeting, Mayor Deb emphasized the implementation of strict protocols to combat the spread of the disease. Landowners have been instructed to promptly clean up abandoned and vacant sites to mitigate potential breeding grounds for dengue-causing mosquitoes. Additionally, in the event of a confirmed dengue case in any household, thorough investigations will be conducted in 100 residences within the vicinity to prevent further transmission.

Furthermore, the Mayor announced the designation of August 17 as Cleanliness Day, emphasizing the significance of maintaining a clean and hygienic environment to curb the spread of dengue and other vector-borne diseases.
