Siliguri, 19th April: On the day of the ongoing elections in the three districts of North Bengal, Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb has assumed a proactive role in monitoring operations at various polling centers since early morning.
As per reports, the Mayor was observed closely monitoring multiple polling booths at the Dabgram-Fulbari Legislative Assembly Center on Friday. Additionally, a control room had been established at the residence of Councilor Lakshmi Pal from Ward No. 23 in Siliguri, where Gautam Deb is vigilantly monitoring activities across all booths of the Legislative Assembly.
In this regard, Mayor Gautam Deb mentioned that the administration had received multiple complaints about malfunctioning EVMs in several locations which have been promptly addressed. Furthermore, he asserted that the central forces had delayed the voting pace. As a result, the issue has been addressed to the Election Commission. Additionally, the mayor responded to Dabgram-Fulbari MLA Shikha Chatterjee previous remarks stating that the MLA was not in the best state of her mind.
