Siliguri, 04th January: Brajgopal Mani, a resident of Ektiasal and an e-rickshaw (Toto) driver, to save electricity while charging the battery, installed solar panels in his toto.
Reportedly, Brajgopal has been driving the toto for the past 4-5 years. Recently, he also bought a new toto with a permanent number plate. He installed a solar panel at a cost of around 22 thousand rupees and mounted it on top of the vehicle.
According to him, after the battery gets charged, the vehicle can travel around 100 kilometres, which is extremely cost-efficient. He stated that installing the solar panel has limited his expenses to a great extent.
