Siliguri, 02nd May: Bijan Sarkar, a pharmacist and a resident of the Siliguri Lake Town area caught everyone’s attention by distributing ration among the needy in a unique way.
Following the government guidelines of social distance, hundreds of people lined up on Saturday morning to collect ration. However, this time, the food distribution technique was a little different and unique.
Rice, pulses, soybeans, vegetables, biscuits, soaps, and other food items were arranged accordingly and kept on separate tables. The people were then free to pick up the required items as per their choice.
Sarkar stated that the nation-wide lockdown in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases has made a huge economical impact on the daily wagers and their families. Therefore, such an initiative has been taken.
