Siliguri, 10th August: Siliguri’s resident Prabhat Dasgupta, who recently recovered from COVID-19 and returned home, died after contracting the virus for the second time.
Reportedly, the deceased, after testing positive for coronavirus in the month of July, was admitted to Kawakhali’s COVID Hospital. After undergoing treatment at the hospital for several days, he successfully tested negative on August 01 and got discharged from the hospital.
Meanwhile, all his family members tested positive for the virus. The man was found suffering from breathlessness after his son returned home from the hospital on August 04. Following this, he was rushed to the North Bengal Medical Collge and Hospital (NBMCH), where his swab test was taken and the report came back positive.
The man was admitted to the COVID Hospital in Kawakhali on August 05 once again. Unfortunately, he breathed his last after three days, on August 08, while undergoing treatment.
Sandeep Sengupta, a doctor at NBMCH stated that the patient had various comorbidities. On the other hand, Ashok Bhattacharya stated that an investigation should be done in this regard.
