Siliguri Deshbandhupara Tarai Tarapada Adarsha Vidyalaya hosts Van Mahotsav

Siliguri, 15th July: Deshbandhupara Tarai Tarapada Adarsha Vidyalaya in Siliguri organized Van Mahotsav with the aim of promoting greenery on their grounds. The Baikunthapur Forest Department launched the ‘Amar School, Amar Gach’ project to encourage students to plant trees.


The festival was inaugurated on Monday by Gautam Deb, Mayor of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, Siliguri Police Commissioner C Sudhakar, DFO Baikunthapur Raja M, and other forest officials, along with members of various voluntary organizations, who lit the ceremonial lamp. A tableau was also flagged off to mark the occasion.

Mayor Gautam Deb highlighted the state’s initiatives for greening and sustainable urbanization led by the Chief Minister. DFO Raja M explained that the ‘Amar School, Amar Gach’ project aims to engage the new generation in environmental conservation by forming student committees responsible for planting and nurturing trees in their school, with rewards for their efforts.
