Siliguri, 06th January: The Siliguri Cricket Lovers Welfare Organization has been demanding a cricket stadium of international standards for a long time. However, no steps have been taken on behalf of the administration so far.
Today, the organization held a press conference at the Siliguri Journalists Club with the same demand. Manoj Verma was present on behalf of the organization. Cricket coach Jayanta Bhowmik, players Abdul Khaleq and Tapan Bhawal were also present.
Jayant Bhowmick said that if the government cannot meet their demands at the moment, at least one full-fledged cricket ground should be arranged. Manoj Verma said that although there is a ground for a cricket stadium in Kawakhali, township work is being carried out at the moment making it difficult for the players to practice or play.
