Siliguri court sentenced three Bangladeshi nationals to two years rigorous imprisonment

Siliguri, 01st September: Siliguri court has sentenced three Bangladeshi nationals to two years rigorous imprisonment on the charges of entering India illegally.


It has been learned that the three accused Mohammad Rahim, Mohammad Ibrahim and Mohammad Hasnail have been sentenced to 2 years of rigorous imprisonment and fines of Rs 3,000 have been imposed on them.

In 2019, Naxalbari police arrested three Bangladeshi nationals at the Indo-Nepal border. All their passports and visas had expired. The three were arrested under the Foreigners Act. The sentence was announced today after a two-year trial in Siliguri court.


Government lawyer Soumitra Sinha Sarkar said that Mohammad Rahim, Mohammad Ibrahim, and Mohammad Hasnail were arrested in 2019 on charges of entering India illegally. The case had been going on for two years. The sentence was announced today.
