Siliguri, 15th January: The STSSEEU organization submitted a memorandum with six demands to the General Manager at the Siliguri BSNL office. The workers, who have been employed at BSNL for nearly 20 years, are protesting recent changes that have negatively impacted their working conditions.
Previously, the employees’ wages were determined under the Central Government’s Minimum Wages Act through a tender system. However, the system was suddenly changed, and employees were illegally laid off. This has led to dissatisfaction among the workers, who demanded that their wages be reinstated under the Minimum Wages Act.
On this occasion, the workers handed over the memorandum to the General Manager, presenting their demands. The workers are determined to take further action if the administration fails to address their concerns.
