Siliguri, 07th April: Ahead of the upcoming elections, BJP candidate Shankar Ghosh from Ward No. 46 in Siliguri launched a new initiative called ‘Dinjapan Karmasuchi’ (Daily Engagement Program) to enhance direct public engagement.
The program began with Ghosh paying tribute to local intellectuals by offering garlands at their statues. He then visited various parts of Ward No. 46, interacting with residents and listening to their concerns regarding daily issues, infrastructure gaps, and shortcomings in civic services.
During the visit, local residents took Ghosh to a park that has been non-functional for 7-8 years. Despite repeated complaints to the Mayor and Ward Councillor, no effective action had been taken. Ghosh assured that necessary steps would be taken in the future to address such issues.
Ghosh said the primary aim of the ‘Dinjapan Karmasuchi’ is to spend time directly with people in each ward, listen to their problems, and understand their ground realities. This initiative is meant to reach the people and truly hear their concerns.
