Siliguri, 07th October: In a heartwarming gesture ahead of Durga Puja, Siliguri Bharat Sevashram Sangha distributed new clothes to tea plantation workers at Thanjhora Tea Estate in Kharibari.
Under the initiative led by Siliguri’s Bharat Seva Ashram Sangh, the workers received saris for women, dhotis for men, as well as blankets and mosquito nets.
Speaking on behalf of the organization, Swami Atishananda acknowledged the bonus issue faced by tea garden workers, which prompted the distribution of new clothes for Durga Puja. He added that more workers will receive new clothes in the coming days.
