Siliguri, 24th February: Direct train service from Siliguri to Bangladesh will be launched from March 26.
As per the report, the new passenger train will run from NJP to Dhaka on March 26. Soon, the new train will be named and ticket prices will be fixed, said the railway officials of both countries.
The railway ministers are hopeful that the train will play a special role in improving the tourism business between the two countries. Bangladesh DRM Mohammad Sahidul Islam, NF Railway Katihar Division DRM Rabindra Kumar Burma, Sealdah Division DRM Shailendra P Singh held a meeting at NJP on Wednesday.
Addressing the media, they stated that the train will travel 9 hours non-stop with 10 compartments. The new train will run two days a week on Mondays and Thursdays. The launch of this train service will benefit both the countries economically.
