Siliguri, 04th March: The Siliguri Dabgram Fulbari City Auto Maxi Cab Owners Welfare Association demanded petrol LPG powered 3-wheelers instead of the three-wheelers. In the year 2018, a decision was taken on behalf of the state government to replace diesel-powered automobiles with LPG autos. However, according to the West Bengal Auto Policy, such a step cannot be taken and only petrol LPG powered vehicles can be provided.
In this regard, the members of the organization approached the Jalpaiguri circuit bench, where a decision was made that four-wheelers cannot be provided in place of three-wheelers. However, many diesel-powered four-wheelers have been sighted running on the road.
Shivraj Chowdhury, the secretary of the organization, stated that the Regional Transport Office (RTO) is not cooperating with them in this matter.
