Siliguri athlete appeal for financial assistance to participate in International Karate Championship

Siliguri, 15th January: Siliguri’s Polusha Munda desires to take part in the International Karate Championship, but he is unable to because of his poor financial condition.


Through a press conference at the Siliguri Journalist Club today, Polusha Munda informed that an International Karate Championship will be held in Thailand from January 29. Munda maintained that it will cost around 1.50 lakh rupees to participate in the competition.

The collection made by the young athlete, who is also an engineering college student, falls far less than the required amount. Hence, Munda though the press conference appealed to various organizations to provide financial support to help him. Munda also called on the State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb to address his financial problems.


As per the information, more than 54 countries will take part in the competition. Prior to this, Munda has won four gold medals at the national level.
