In a significant move, the Sikkim government has announced enhanced maternity and paternity leave for its employees. Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, addressing the general meeting of the Sikkim State Civil Service Officers Association (SSCSOA) on Wednesday, declared that government staff will now be entitled to a generous 12-month maternity leave, equivalent to one year, and one month of paternity leave. This decision marks a notable step towards supporting work-life balance and family responsibilities for government employees in the state.
