Siliguri, 12th December: Police from Bhakti Nagar Police Station have arrested a shop owner for allegedly storing and selling gas cylinders illegally at a shop located on Eastern Bypass.
As per reports, the operation was conducted based on a secret tip-off in Ward No. 40 under Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
During the raid, authorities recovered a large quantity of domestic and small gas cylinders being stored illegally. A total of eight domestic cylinders, twelve small cylinders, two digital machines, and two gas refilling nozzles were seized from the premises.
The shop owner, Uttam Dutta, a resident of Ward No. 41, was taken into custody and produced before the Jalpaiguri Court. Police have confirmed that a full investigation into the matter is underway.
