Siliguri, 11th September: Pradhan Nagar police arrested a shop employee, identified as Umesh Chhetri (32), for his involvement in a theft at a furniture store in Pokai Jote.
According to reports, Chhetri had been working at the furniture store, where Rs 35,000 was stolen in August. After the incident, the shop owner filed a complaint on August 8 at Pradhan Nagar police station.
Following an investigation, the police arrested Chhetri on Tuesday, based on a tip-off, near Sri Guru Vidyamandir High School. During interrogation, the police recovered Rs 20,000 of the stolen amount.
Chhetri was presented in Siliguri court on Wednesday, and further investigation into the case is underway.
