Siliguri, 27th February: A garment shop was burnt to ashes in a catastrophic fire near Siliguri’s Ranidanga, on Wednesday night. No casualties were reported in the incident.
Reportedly, the locals sighted smoke coming out from the shop around 12.30 am and informed the fire brigade. Upon receiving the news, 2 fire engines reached the spot and extinguished the fire. However, till then all the valuables were destroyed in the shop.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Shop owner Kusum Chandra Barman stated that valuables worth 10 lakhs have been destroyed.
