Siliguri, 02nd September: After Japanese manga character Shin Chan’s name appeared on the merit list of Siliguri College with fictional character Doraemon entitled as the guardian, the management of Siliguri College was taken by surprise.
Acting promptly, the names were immediately removed from the college website and a complaint was lodged at the Cybercrime branch.
After the complaint was lodged, an e-mail was sent to the College on Tuesday night, in which the sender sought forgiveness and mentioned that the application was submitted jokingly.
Jayanta Kar, on behalf of the college, stated that the Cyber Crime department is currently investigating the matter and have been requested by the college to take strict action in this regard.
