Gajaldoba is all set to welcome Shikara boating along the lines of Kashmir’s Dal Lake. Today, Tourism Minister Babul Supriyo held a review meeting with the district administration including the tourism, forest, and irrigation department at the youth residence of Bhorer Aalo.
After this meeting, he said that Shikara would be launched in Gajoldoba. Along with this, many other schemes have also been discussed keeping in mind the needs of the tourists. Tourism Minister Babul Supriyo said that he has come to North Bengal for the first time after assuming the charge of the Tourism Minister. The Chief Minister’s plans to complete the Swapner Tourism Hub-Bhorer Aalo were discussed with the officials of the concerned departments. With the inspiration of the CM, initiatives have been taken to start many shikaras. Efforts are being made to start them soon.
On the other hand, there is a plan to make Shikara the best in the country by making it more attractive than Dal Lake in Kashmir. During this, the Managing Director of the Tourism Department, Jalpaiguri District Magistrate Moumita Godara Basu, Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy, BDO Pankaj Konar, and Tourism Department’s OSD NC Sherpa and others were present.
