SFI Workers’ meeting held in Naxalbari, calls for students’ union elections

Naxalbari, 22nd March: The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) held a workers’ meeting at the Timber Merchant Association building in Naxalbari, demanding the return of dropout students to their educational institutions and the prompt conduct of student union elections.


As part of their demonstration, a procession was also taken out to Panighata More, Naxalbari to express their dissatisfaction.

During the meeting, SFI State Secretary Debanjan Dey, District Secretary Ankit Dey, District Committee Member Gaurav Ghosh, and other dignitaries were present.


State Secretary Debanjan Dey announced that free coaching centers will be commenced in the coming days in Merry View Tea Garden, Naxalbari Tea Garden, and Azamabad Tea Garden. Further, he accused the state government of not holding the student union elections out of fear.
