Siliguri, 13th July: The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) Darjeeling District Committee staged a protest and a mass signature campaign at Siliguri’s Hashmi Chowk in support of multiple demands.
It has been learned that the SFI members protested with placards in support of various demands including reduction of fees of all schools and colleges, vaccination for all and reopening of schools, colleges-universities in compliance with hygiene rules.
In this regard, SFI district president Sagar Sharma said, “We are conducting this signature campaign across the district. We will collect the signatures and hand over a memorandum to the Siliguri SDO next Friday.” He further said that continuous campaigns will be held in the coming days.
SFI District Secretary Shankar Majumder, District President Sagar Sharma, District Secretariat member Abhijit Chanda, Tanmoy Chanda, and many others were present at the programme.
