Siliguri, 04th September: The atmosphere in Siliguri College has heated up following a clash between two student organizations.
Reportedly, the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) staged a protest in front of Siliguri College today alleging corruption regarding the admission process. Meanwhile, the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad tore down the party flag of SFI, hoisted their own flag, and raised counter-slogans.
After a while, the atmosphere in the entire college campus boiled up. The SFI members were spotted staging a sit-in protest outside the college gate. Acting promptly, the police arrived at the spot to tackle the situation.
The Trinamool Chhatra Parishad members claimed that no corruption concerning student admission has been reported in the college so far. They further took a jibe at the SFI and stated that one needs to give suitable evidence before arising such complaints.
On the other hand, the SFI alleged that the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad harassed an SFI student today. They further warned of staging larger demonstrations in the coming days.
