Siliguri, 06th October: The Bhaktinagar police arrested seven people along with stolen goods worth 40 lakh rupees. The arrested accused have been identified as Anju Sharma, Sandeep Nath, Sultan Islam, Muksudar Haque, Prasenjit Roy, Ramkrishna Barman, and Rahul Ghosh.
Reportedly, all were involved in 8 separate thefts. Stolen goods worth 40 lakh rupees, cash, and gold ornaments were recovered from their possession.
During a press conference at the Bhaktinagar police station on Monday, DCP East Zone Joy Tudu stated that several thefts had been reported at the Bhaktinagar police station, based on which, the police launched investigations and successfully got hold of all accused individuals.
Gold ornaments worth 23 lakh rupees, 7 laptops, two mobile phones, a camera, two LED televisions, and 85 thousand rupees cash have been recovered as per the DCP. The arrested individuals are currently in police custody.
