Kalchini, 05th May: Segun wood worth lakhs of rupees were recovered from two separate places during operations carried out by the forest department.
The range forest workers, based on a tip-off, launched operations at the Gopalpur tea garden and detained a Maruti car. 30 CFT Segun wood was recovered from the vehicle.
On the other hand, the Pana mobile forest workers recovered 50 CFT wood from the Kalchini Kamar Line area.
However, no arrests were made in either of the two incidents. The smugglers managed to escape the scene upon the arrival of the forest workers.
