Siliguri, 19th September: Lions Club of Siliguri Uday inaugurated the ‘Seed Ball’ programme, on Sunday. Under this programme, around two and a half lakh seed balls will be distributed in different places.
The seed balls were distributed to various clubs including Marwari Yuva Manch and the Lions Club of Prerna. An appeal has been made to spread the seed balls in the city and its surrounding areas.
Ankit Agarwal, president of Lions Club of Siliguri Uday, said that the oxygen crisis in the pandemic situation has given a message to protect the environment. However, there are various problems in planting trees in the current situation. Hence, a different initiative was taken. He further said that around 25 clubs are involved in this initiative. 5,000 seed balls will be given to each club.
The Governor of Lions Club of 332F and Padma Shree Karimul Haque were present at the event.
