Security tightened at NJP railway station; special search operation underway

Siliguri, 06th May: In response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, security measures have been intensified at New Jalpaiguri (NJP) railway station, one of the key rail hubs in North Bengal. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has launched a special search operation to ensure passenger safety, with 24-hour joint patrols and regular inspections of platforms and tracks now in place.


Officials from the RPF stated that every corner of the station is under surveillance. The operation includes interrogation of suspects and thorough checking of luggage to detect any suspicious activity.

Meanwhile, the railway department and local administration have urged passengers to cooperate during the checks and not to panic. Authorities have confirmed that such operations will be carried out on a regular basis as a precautionary measure.
