Siliguri, 17th August: In a distressing incident, a 57-year-old security guard, identified as Rakesh Rai, has been arrested for the alleged sexual abuse of an 8-year-old girl in Siliguri. Rai, who worked as a security guard at an apartment in the Pradhan Nagar police station area, is originally from Sikkim.
As per reports, the incident occurred on Friday when Rai reportedly attempted to sexually abuse the girl under the pretense of giving her clothes. Upon discovering the abuse, the girl’s family filed a formal complaint at the Pradhan Nagar police station.
Following the complaint, the police conducted an investigation and promptly arrested Rai. He was presented in Siliguri court on Saturday. The police are continuing their investigation into the case.
