Siliguri, 24th September: The second meeting of the Tea Advisory Council was held at Vivekananda Bhawan, Siliguri. During this, Minister Moloy Ghatak, Minister Bulu Chik Baraik, State Public Accounts Committee Chairman Krishna Kumar Kalyani, Rajya Sabha MP Shanta Chhetri, GTA Chief Executive Officer Anit Thapa and others were present.
Minister Bulu Chik Baraik said that Abhishek Banerjee, National General Secretary of All India Trinamool Congress, has given a target of three months, however, the Tea Directorate and the state government promptly issued I-cards to the tea workers within just 12 days. After the pujas, the work of installing creches, health centres or hospitals, ambulance services and drinking water facilities in various tea garden workers will start. The minister further assured that all works will be completed within two months.
Meanwhile, GTA Chief Anit Thapa said that a health centre will be set up in the tea garden and 13 creches will be built in the coming days.
