Siliguri, 03rd January: The second Inter-District Women’s Football Championship was organized in Siliguri by the Women’s Sports Association of West Bengal. The three-day event was inaugurated at the Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri on Friday.
The inauguration was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Dola Sen, Darjeeling District Magistrate Preeti Goyal, SDO Avadh Singhal, Siliguri Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, MMIC Dilip Barman, and others. Rajya Sabha MP Dola Sen kicked off the football game during the opening ceremony.
Speaking to the media, Dola Sen highlighted the efforts of the state Chief Minister to encourage girls across Bengal to participate in sports, noting that this championship is part of those ongoing efforts.
