Jalpaiguri, 14th June: The Sealdah-Jalpaiguri Road Express was officially launched on Saturday, bringing cheer to passengers across North Bengal. The inaugural train departed from Jalpaiguri Road station at 2:00 p.m.
Jalpaiguri MP Jayanta Kumar Roy, along with senior railway officials, flagged off the service from Jalpaiguri Road.
As per reports, the special train is expected to reach Sealdah by 4:00 a.m. the next day. Regular operations of the train will commence from June 20. The Express includes 22 coaches.
The train will halt at several stations en route, including NJP, Aluabari Road, Kishanganj, Barsoi Junction, Shamsi, Malda Town, New Farakka, Jangipur Road, Azimganj Junction, Berhampur Court, Krishnanagar City Junction, Ranaghat Junction, and Naihati before reaching Sealdah.
