Siliguri, 19th May: The Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and the police officials inspected the Siliguri Regulated Market as several people crowd the area on a regular basis breaching the government protocols. Some are also spotted roaming around without mouth masks.
The SDO has made it compulsory for people to wear mouth masks, failing which they will not be allowed to purchase commodities. People will also be thermally screened by health department officials. Apart from this, miking will be carried out to raise COVID-19 awareness. The SDO also strictly ordered the warehouse keepers to make sure that there are no crowds outside the storehouses.
