Scooty hits woman on Siliguri’s Eastern Bypass, two injured

Siliguri, 03rd January: Another road accident was reported on Siliguri’s Eastern Bypass on Saturday, leaving two people injured. The incident took place in the Thakur Nagar area during the afternoon.

According to local sources, a minor was riding a scooty at high speed along the Eastern Bypass when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a woman walking along the road. Following the impact, both the scooty rider and the woman were thrown onto the roadside and sustained injuries.

Local residents rushed to the spot and rescued the injured, later shifting them to Siliguri District Hospital for treatment.

Locals alleged that such accidents are repeatedly occurring due to minors being allowed to ride vehicles. They warned that unless parents become more cautious and stop handing over vehicles to underage children, similar incidents will continue to occur in the future.
