Siliguri, 19th October: The Matigara police have achieved a significant milestone in the school girl homicide case after registering a charge sheet with the court in less than fifty-seven days.
Reports indicate that the charge sheet was mandated to be submitted within ninety days. Nevertheless, the charge sheet had already been produced by the Matigara police station before the deadline. The court is currently awaiting the forensic report from Hyderabad. Following this, all the reports from sexual assault to murder about the minor are anticipated to come to light.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, the accused MD Abbas was brought before the court once again while his defense attorney petitioned for bail. However, the petition was rejected by the court. Reportedly, the murder trial is scheduled to resume in November, following the Durga Puja. In addition, the statements of the people whose names are listed on the charge sheet will be documented.
