Rajganj, 24th February: Shock gripped Rajganj after a schoolgirl was found hanging at her home in Kukurjan Gram Panchayat area.
Reportedly, the girl, a resident of Kanchanshree village and a student of Standard 11, returned from school as usual, had her meals, and locked herself inside her room. When she did not respond for a long time, her family checked through the window and found her hanging. They immediately informed Rajganj police, who recovered the body and sent it to Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital.
Family sources said the girl was reportedly in a relationship with a young man, with whom she often met and spoke on the phone. They believe the incident may be related to this relationship. A complaint has been lodged at Rajganj police station against the youth, and investigations are underway.
