Siliguri, 06th June: Moushumi Sutradhar of Siliguri Girls High School made her family proud after she topped her school in the Madhyamik examination. After the death of her father, who was a toto driver, Moushumi lives with her mother and her brother. Her mother provides tuition and has given her husband’s toto in rent for additional income. Despite the financial constraints, Moushumi’s dedication and hard work came out in flying colors.
The young scholar stated that she was not expecting to score such the highest number in her school. She added that if she had studied with a little more dedication, she would have topped the district. Little Moushumi aspires to become a doctor in the future. However, with her family’s frail financial condition she believes her dreams are unattainable. Moushumi has appealed for support from the government or any voluntary organization to enable her to acquire her goals.
