Siliguri, 10th September: A school bus transporting children home was involved in an accident, with the children narrowly escaping a fatal outcome. Four people, including a student and a teacher, were injured in the crash, while the bus driver fled the scene.
Reportedly, the incident occurred when a private school bus, en route from Salbari to Medical More, lost control and collided with the divider of the Phansidewa More flyover under Matigara Police Station. At the time, eight individuals, including students, were on board.
Upon receiving the report, officials from Matigara Police Station and Balasan Traffic Police arrived at the scene. The injured were promptly taken to the nearest hospital for treatment. The bus was later recovered using a crane and taken to the police station for further investigation.
