Sawan 2023: Devotees flock to temples on the first Monday

In the current year, the auspicious month of Shravan has been extended to a two-month period, instead of the customary one-month schedule. As a result, there will be eight Mondays dedicated to Lord Shiva instead of the usual four. On the occasion of the First Monday, devotees from all corners of the country have gathered at various pilgrimage sites to offer their prayers to the revered deity, Shiva Mahadev.

It is worth mentioning that the two-month period of Shravan was last observed approximately 19 years ago, adding a special significance to this year’s celebrations. The increased duration has further amplified the devotion and enthusiasm among the devotees, as they partake in the religious rituals and seek the blessings of Lord Shiva during this extended holy period.
