Siliguri, 03rd April: Based on a tip-off, the forest workers of the Sarugara Range of Baikunthapur Forest Department, launched operations at the Fulbari Ghoshpukur bypass area under Ranger Sanjay Dutta’s leadership and arrested 4 people with stolen Segun wood, on Saturday morning. A pick-up van was also detained in the incident.
According to the forest department, the timber was intended to be smuggled from Gayerkata to Bihar. A Scorpio car was also detained in the incident. The market value of the recovered timber is around 5 lakh rupees. The forest department has started an investigation into the whole incident.
